OMAR PORRAS born in Alajuela on 15 April 1955.
At age 15 he moved to San Jose to work and study.
It started painting at an early age, at age 17 working in theater set design. Then as an independent painter exhibiting his works in galleries all

This while studying.
At 19 years traveling through Central America and southern Mexico: This makes paintings and has contact with artists.
A los20 She travels to Colombia paints the Sierra Nevada, these works remain in private collections in Colombia.
At 25 years traveling the United States for 5 years he paints, studies and makes many copies of the great classical painters. Traveling through several states on Long Island still painting and selling her works at the Circuit de Sojo in NY.
At age 30 he returned to Costa Rica and established his shop, it should be noted that academic studies were cut short by his desire to paint.
Omar Porras is considered a self-taught artist but has some academic knowledge on painting, sculpture and architecture, even philosophy, all courses free of inquiry.
In 1995 he traveled to Europe receive an award from ARTISTI DEGLI DI ROMA CENTRO.
Contact with museums and the general history of European art have enriched more then his current work.
